AGREEMENT between Hannah H. Woodhull & Merrit Smith Woodhull - 26 Sep 1854


Articles of Agreement, made the Twenty Six day of September one thousand eight hundred and fifty four BETWEEN Hannah H. Woodhull of Millers Place, Long Island of the first part and Merrit Smith Woodhull of Williamsburgh, Long Island of the second part, Witnesseth that the said party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar, to her in hand paid hath contracted and agreed to sell to the said party of the second part, all that certain piece or parcel land, situate in the town of Brook Haven in Suffolk County and State of New York Bounded as follows - to wit - Sotheasterly by the Road which leads from Millers Place beginning at the water call the Pond, to the Shore or Landing: Northerly by the Shore or Water called The Sound: Westerly by the land of Deliverance Brown: and Southerly by the Road or Highway which runs through Millers Place aforesaid, containing by estimation Sixty Acres, to the same more or less, togeth with all the buildings and improvements thereon, subject nevertheless to an existing Lean of said premises now held by Charles Woodhull for the term of five years from and after the first of April 1853 -- And the said party of the first part, agrees to execute and deliver to the said party of the second part, a Warranty Deed, for the said land: Proveded and upon condition nevertheless that the said party of the second part, his Executors, administrators, heirs or assigns , pay to the said party of the first part, her heirs or assigns for the same land, the sum of Six Thousland dollars lawful money of the United States of America on or before the first day of April, which will be in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and fifty eight. And the said party of the second part, for himself his heirs, executors and administrators doth covenant and agree, to and with the said party of the first part her heirs and assigns that the said party of the second part, will pay the said Six thousand dollars within the time above mentioned.
