INDENTURE between William Gale & Caleb Helme - 27 March 1797


To all Christian People to Whome these Presidents Shall Come Greeting Know ye that I William Gale of Brookhaven in the County of Suffolk and State of New York yeoman for and in Consideration of Sixteen pounds good and Lawfull money of New York to me in hand paid before the in Sealing and Delivery hereof by Caleb Helme of the town County and Sate above said the Recept hereof I hereby acknowlege and myself therewith fully Satisfied and Contented have by these Presents granted Bargined Self alienated and Conveyed unto Caleb Helme his heir and assigns a Certain peice of land Situate in Brookhaven Township it being one Equal half of a lot of land No. Eight in the Division of land Called Sheep Pasture Division in East Division near millers Place To have and to hold all and Singular the said lot of Land and the appurtenances to him the Said Caleb Helme his heirs and assigns for Ever to his benefit and behoof for Ever and I the said William Gale above said Do by these Presents bind myself my Heirs Executors administrators and Every of us to Warrant Secure and for Ever Defend the above granted Premises from the Just and lawfull Claim of any Person or Persons whatever to him the Said Caleb Helme his heirs and assigns for Ever to his and heir only Proper use benefit and behoof forevery in witness whereof I have set my hand and Seal this Twenty Seventh day of march in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven Hundred and ninety seven Signed Sealed and Delivered In the Presence of
