WELCOME TO THE THOMAS HELME HOUSE

Miller Place, New York

I consider myself very fortunate and privileged to be the current caregiver and owner of the Thomas Helme House. As I started my journey into researching the house and family along with restoring the Helme House itself, I felt that a house with such an abundance of history should be shared with others along with the restoration and conservation experience. The Helme family left a rich legacy from a very early period in the colonization of the Town of Brookhaven, Long Island, New York and therefore the purpose of this website is to present a historical timeline of the people, house and property that have been so much a part of Miller Place, the “Ould Mans” and surrounds.

I hope you will return to visit the website as when new finds or information is gleaned it will appear here as this project is being continually updated.

If you would like to contact us, please E-mail your inquiry or information. Thank you.

Enjoy your visit.
